Control during various squat exercises
- The movement sequence takes place on a trajectory that is perceived as natural, allowing you to assume a deep squatting position and thus provide an optimal training stimulus
- This results in an ideal combination of the dynamic feeling of barbell squats and the exercise safety of a machine
- The guided movement and the long back cushion with high-density foam guarantee safety and stability
- The 2-stage start-stop lock with emergency stop makes the device suitable for athletes of almost any body size; the mechanism is easily operated via a pedal lever
- Thanks to four additional weight pins, you always have your training weights at hand
- The large footboard in the anti-slip checker plate design allows different foot positions in order to set modified training stimuli
- Variable grip positions contribute to a stable posture during the various exercises and make it easier to get in and out of the device
- The V-Squat machine is 175 cm wide, 204 cm long and 168 cm high including weight holders
- The weight of the robust steel frame construction is 195 kg and the maximum load capacity is 450 kg
Target muscles
- V-squats are a high-intensity exercise in a closed kinetic chain that is performed to strengthen the leg muscles
- The compound nature of this exercise targets multiple muscles in a single movement: quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus, adductors and the calf muscles
- Depending on the execution, V-squats are more knee-dominant (exercise with back to the machine) or hip-dominant (facing the machine), whereby different muscle groups are addressed more strongly in each case
- The quadriceps form the front of the thigh muscles and are significantly involved in extending the knee during the squat
- The hamstrings are located on the back of the thigh and help bend the knee and extend the hip
- The gluteal muscles are responsible for hip extension and are particularly stressed during deeper squats
- Our V-Squat machine is ideal for athletes who come from functional muscle training or powerlifting and want to improve their strength, stability, balance and intramuscular coordination in the legs
Exercise option 1: V-squats with your back to the machine
- This variation is more knee dominant and the quadriceps are more stressed
- You stand on the footboard and position yourself under the shoulder pad
- Now you guide the lever arm with the weights a little upwards by slightly stretching your body, the emergency tray automatically tilts backwards
- The device is now unlocked and you can start the target movement
- To do this, the feet should be slightly more than shoulder-width apart and the toes should point outwards (10-15°) so that the feet form a "V"
- Press your heels firmly onto the footplate, slowly bend your knees and hips and lower your buttocks towards the floor
- Make sure that you do not push your knees forward over your toes.
- The core muscles are tense, the chest is raised, the lumbar spine rests on the cushion and you push the hips backwards as if you were sitting down on a chair
- Stop lowering as soon as your hips and knees have reached approximately the same level, or when your hips have reached the maximum bend that is still perceived as comfortable
- At the turning point of the movement, concentrate on contracting the glutes and inner thighs, consciously pushing the heels up and returning to the starting position by extending the knees and hips
Exercise option 2: V-squats facing the machine
- This variation is hip dominant, so the gluteal muscles and hamstrings are more strongly activated
- The dominance of the posterior muscle chain increases even more the higher you stand with your heels on the footplate and the more you lean forward into the machine
- The movement sequence remains fundamentally the same as described above
Exercise option 3: Triple Extension Squats
- Same posture as for V-squats facing the machine
- However, at the top of the movement, when the body is straightened again and the knee and hip are maximally stretched, the upper ankle joint is also stretched
- The exercise is ideal for building explosive power for sports such as handball, basketball, volleyball as well as for all jumping and sprinting disciplines
