• Loose-lay installation on any solid subfloor

Step-by-step guide: cutting and installing your gym mats

1. Safety first: wear proper work gloves to protect your hands from cuts.
2. Pick the right tools: a sharp carpet or utility knife and a straightedge.
3. Work on a flat, level surface, and lay down cardboard or similar to protect the floor underneath.
4. Measure carefully and mark the cut line with chalk, or lightly score it with the knife.
5. Line up the straightedge and pull the knife firmly through the mat without lifting it. Make each pass in one smooth motion with even pressure, and repeat until the mat is cut all the way through. As you cut, gradually spread the mat apart to reduce friction. If needed, wet the blade with a little soapy water so it glides more easily, but keep in mind that this also makes the knife more likely to slip.
6. Cover any gaps between mats with black tape to keep dust and dirt out.
