1. What is a power rack?
A power rack is a four-post training frame for safer barbell workouts. It comes with adjustable J-hooks, spotter arms, and a pull-up bar. You can add stations like a lat pulldown/row or a Smith machine for more versatility.
2. What are the key features of the R5, R7 & R8 Power Racks and the R7 Squat Racks?
R8: 7.5x7.5cm posts, 3mm steel, modular, 226–231cm height, wide range of add-ons. R7: 7x7cm posts, 2mm steel, 200/220cm height, versatile setup. R7 Squat Rack: 2-post version, 7x7cm, 2mm steel, two height options. R5: compact entry-level rack, 5x5cm posts, 2mm steel, holds up to 700kg.
3. Are R8 and R7 racks compatible with each other’s attachments?
No. Each rack series has its own design, so attachments only fit within the same series. I.e., you can’t use R8 attachments on an R7 rack.
4. Can the power racks be upgraded and expanded?
Yes. R8 supports new uprights, crossbars, and many attachments. R7 allows jammer arms, Smith machine, lat pulldown, and extra cross bars. R5 has fewer options like a leg extension, jammer arms, or a landmine.
5. How do you use spotter arms and are they safe?
Spotter arms hook and lock onto the uprights. Set them just below your lift range so they catch the bar if needed. They let you train heavy and safe, even solo.
6. What are the advantages of training with a Smith machine?
The bar runs on a fixed track and hooks in at a variety of places along that path. This adds safety and stability, makes calf raises easier, supports beginners, lets you isolate muscles, and keeps plate changes quick.
7. Can a lat pulldown and rowing unit be used for more than pulldowns and rows?
Yes. With different grips and handles, you can also do curls, pushdowns, face pulls, raises, pullovers, and more for a full cable workout.
8. Do you need floor protection under the rack?
Racks have plastic feet to avoid scratches, but floor mats are strongly recommended to reduce noise and protect against drops.
