2. What is the difference between weightlifting and powerlifting bars?

Weightlifting bars are built for Olympic lifts. They spin smoothly with bearings or bushings, protecting wrists and forearms during fast lifts like the clean and snatch. They also have more whip—flex that helps drive explosive movement.

Powerlifting bars are stiffer by design. For squats, bench, and deadlifts, stiffness ensures stability under extreme loads. Aggressive knurling locks grip and prevents slipping—critical for safety and max performance.

3. What does the PSI rating mean?

PSI measures tensile strength and flex. Weightlifting bars like the Alpha flex to absorb impact in clean & jerks. Powerlifting bars like Beta and Gamma are stiffer to withstand huge loads without bending.

4. What’s the best way to store my barbell?

Store it horizontally on a wall mount like the Blade, or on J-hooks of a power rack. Avoid leaving it on the floor loaded with plates for long periods.

5. Which weight plates do I need?

For weightlifting, use bumper plates—safe for dropping the bar. For classic strength training, gripper plates are easier to handle thanks to built-in grips. A mix of small and large plates increases training flexibility. A 95 kg set is enough for most beginners.

6. What can you train with a barbell?
